Whats your process from intial enquiry to the wedding day?I would require you to fill out the contact me form via my website, with as much information as possible including the date and location of the wedding and the number of people requiring my services. A £100 booking fee,(non-refundable) is required to secure the date in my diary and then you can decide when you would like to book any trials. A 50% booking fee,(non-refundable) is required to book any trials and balances are to be paid at the trial. I encourage my brides to send over images and ideas showing their vision for their wedding day including styles of hair and makeup that they like, also their colour schemes and the style of their wedding dress, veil, accessories and jewellery. At the trial consultation I will style the hair and/or apply the makeup looks and record the products used and take photographs of the final wedding day look. If the trial is a success, then final details are confirmed, balances of any trials paid and a 50% deposit, minus the £100 booking fee, of the total wedding costs is required. On the wedding day I’ll arrive, set up and will have a schedule for everyone that is requiring my services, recreating the hairstyle and/or makeup from the trial and I’ll be on hand to help with securing the veil, dress and generally helping out so the bride feels totally relaxed and calm. Please refer to my full Terms & Conditions.

Do I require a trial consultation prior to my wedding day?Trial consultations are important as it allows myself and the bride to discuss and try out the look they have choosen and make sure that they are completely happy. Hair and Makeup styles are very personal and may require adjustments to suit the individual, I will offer my professional advice to ensure the perfect look. Prior to your trial I will ask you to collect pictures or create a Pinterest Board of all the styles you love so that I can get an idea of the look or theme you are looking to achieve. I will record as a reference all the products that have been used and I will take photographs. The most important part is to ensure you are completely happy with your look.

When should I book my trial consultation?Every client is different but I would recommend that your trial consultation is booked 3-6 months in advance but it is your decision how far in advance you book with me. Ideally you will have choosen your dress as this is an important aspect towards the hair and/or makeup look you choose. I recommend that your trial consultation is booked during the day so as to see how your hair and/or makeup will look like in the daylight, and see how everything wears throughout the day. It enables you to ensure there are no skin reactions or sensitivities to any of the products used. Any allergies, skin reactions or sensitivities after the trial should be reported by the client so that those products are not used on the day.
-
How should I prepare for the trial consultation?I would ask my brides and any other members of the bridal party to wash their hair the night before the trial as hair can sometimes be easier to work with when washed in advance. However, if you have an oily scalp and tend to wash your hair every day then this is also fine as long as your hair is washed and blow-dried at least a couple of hours before your appointment. If you have a veil, hair accessories or jewellery that you are planning to wear on the day you should bring them to your trial. I would also ask to come makeup free if possible and wear a top or dress similar to the colour of your wedding outfit as it will help you to see how the makeup reflects the light. You should also bring any mood boards and pictures that you have collected.
-
How long does a trial consultation take?Trial consultation usually take between 2-4 hours depending on which services you require and looks you wish to try, I will always endeavour to continue the consultation until you are satisfied with your final look. I do ask clients to choose around 2 favourite looks as to many choices can be confusing and may result in an unsuccessful trial or a frustrated client.

Do my bridal party require a trial consultation?Bridal party trials are not always necessary but are uesful especially if a party member is undecided about how they want their hair and/or makeup on the day and would be more comfortable with a trial prior to the wedding day. Due to time constraints on the wedding day there isn’t extra time to experiment with styles, therefore if a member of your bridal party is unsure about the style they require I would recommend booking a trial beforehand to avoid any disappointment or stress on the day. A trial can also be helpful for anyone that has not experienced having their hair styled and makeup applied. If you require all your bridesmaid’s hair to be styled the same, I would also recommend booking a trial to confirm that everyones hair is suitable to that style or if necessary it can be changed to something that is suitable for everyone.
